Foundation Courses Assistant
Location: Highton VIC 3216
Do you have an interest in education and training? Do you enjoy supporting people?
genU Training is committed to providing vocational pathways for people with a disability. Our Nationally recognised courses are designed for people with an intellectual disability or permanent cognitive impairment. These courses support learners to improve their language and literacy, learn skills to take part in the community and develop confidence and the ability to find meaningful work.
Volunteers provide in class assistance to help learners reach their educational goals, under the guidance of a classroom trainer.
Come help our learners take the next step in their learning and development to achieve their Certificate I in Initial Adult Literacy and Numeracy. Through this course you will support our learners to learn to read and write simple phrases and sentences. As well as counting using coins and notes. These essential skills will help improve learners’ abilities to participate in the community and achieve greater levels of independence and employability skills through improved communication skills by learning to read, write and use text or voice to converse. Learners graduate from their 12-month course with several important employability skills.
Role Hours: The course runs weekly on Mondays from 9.00am-3.00pm commencing on the 28th of April 2025 for a 12-month period.
Bite sized and flexible volunteer shifts available, you may wish to offer a half or full day on weekly or fortnightly basis – let us know your availability.
