Santa Ana Public Library's purpose is to respond to our community's informational, educational, and personal interest needs using books, materials, technology, and professional expertise. Likewise, the TeenSpace's mission is to provide Mentored Learning and exploration of non-traditional methods for tutoring and engagement of teens and young adults via programs in arts, sciences, humanities, college, career development, life-skills, and civic engagement. The Santa Ana History Room is committed to fostering an interest in local history by collecting, preserving and making available materials of enduring historical value relating to the development of the City of Santa Ana and Orange County. The Friends of the Santa Ana Public Library are volunteers that work in support of the Library. They hold book sales and other events to help raise funds. We take pride in the work we do in helping to fund the projects and equipment needed by the library that cannot be funded through the City budget. Our Children's Department (YS) offers a variety of services and programs to Santa Ana youths, their families and teachers at the Main Library and Newhope Library Learning Center. Circulation is vital in our library, maintaining the order, cleanliness, and quality of our materials. At our two locations, we have plenty of opportunities for community service, experience, and professional growth in our library system.
We would not be able to accomplish all that we strive to do without the support of thoughtful and dedicated volunteers, like you! Thank you!
The City of Santa Ana's mission is to provide efficient public services in partnership with our community which ensures public safety, a prosperous economic environment, opportunities for our youth, and a high quality of life for residents.
