Wednesday: Food Distribution Volunteer

Join Catholic Charities to assist with the Mt. Pleasant food distribution. Now more than ever, we need volunteers to assist our operations as more and more people in our community begin to rely upon local food donation centers to feed their families.

Volunteers will assist staff in handing out bagged food to clients who are in line.

Where:  3182 Mt. Pleasant St. NW, Washington 20010

*The food distribution will be in the triangle on the corners of Lamont St. and Mount Pleasant St.

When: One Wednesday, per month from 9:30 am -to 12:00 pm

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Handbagged food to people who are in line

Desired Skills and Characteristics: 

• Helpful and cooperative and a calm demeanor. 
• Able to follow directions and maintain a safe environment. 
• Able to stand for approximately 3 hrs. 
• Able to lift approximately 15 pounds at a time and lighter weights repeatedly. 

Qualifications: 

• Volunteers under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult chaperone. If under 18 years old, please bring a signed Parent Guardian Waiver form.
