Facilities Assistant - San Mateo

Facilities Volunteers support the Facilities team with general upkeep tasks around PHS/SPCA's campuses, helping keep grounds and buildings well maintained, tidy, and welcoming. This is a hands-on support role working alongside Facilities staff.

Available Shifts: Pick one regular weekly 2-4 hour shift - Monday - Friday - 9 - 4 p.m.

Duties:        

• Assist Facilities staff with general grounds upkeep, including weeding, debris and leaf pickup, and property beautification.
• Support maintenance of outdoor areas.
• Provide general assistance to Facilities staff on non-technical tasks and special projects as needed.
• Ensure tools and supplies are properly put away after use.
• Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or repair needs to Facilities.
• Follow all staff directions and safety protocols.
• Ensure compliance with all PHS/SPCA policies.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Able to safely and effectively perform assigned physical tasks.
• Able to frequently stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working outdoors and around shelter animals.

Age Requirement: This role is open to adults 18+.
Training Required: Hands on with mentor
