Accreditation Visit volunteers
Are you passionate about healthcare and making a difference? We are looking for dedicated volunteers to support our Accreditation Visit Team by interviewing patients within clinical areas, including inpatient wards, as part of a multidisciplinary team. Your feedback will help assess care quality and enhance the patient experience.
What we need:
A mature and compassionate approach to patient conversations
Confidence in engaging with patients and gathering valuable feedback
A firm commitment to one morning a week (Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 12 midday) on pre-arranged dates starting from September 2026 onwards. Training will be provided before starting.
Your role will help assess care against quality standards, ensuring the best possible patient experience. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to NHS quality improvements and make a positive impact on patient care.

Main duties of the job.
Accreditation Volunteers will join the Accreditation Team on visits to clinical areas to provide support with collecting information to assess Patient Experience against a set of quality standards by:
· Confirm with staff which patients are suitable for interview
· Conduct structured interviews with up to five patients per visit
· Accurately record responses using a Trust iPad
· Provide a summary of key findings to the accreditation team lead
· Follow hospital infection prevention and control policies
Commitment:
Accreditation visits are scheduled in advance, so volunteers must be available on pre-arranged dates and site locations, typically weekday mornings from 9 a.m.to 12 midday, and attending alongside other members of the accreditation team as part of a coordinated visit. Each volunteer typically supports 1-2 visits per month.
