Children's Pharmacy Volunteer
Pharmacy Department at the Evelina London Children’s Hospital require Pharmacy Support Volunteers to join their volunteer team to work once a week between Monday – Wednesday and Friday from 10:00 -14:00 or 14:00 –17:00 or on Thursday from 14:00 –17:00
Pharmacy Support Volunteers assist staff in receiving patient prescriptions and support the dispensary team with admin duties. They:
- Welcome patients at the outpatient hatch.
- Receive prescription requests, asking relevant questions and following the designated process
- Assist in the filing of documentation.
- Assist in unpacking, checking and putting away of orders.
- Answer telephones and take detailed messages.
- Communicate messages to the relevant staff member.
- Collect urgent medicines from St Thomas Pharmacy
- Delivery urgent medicines to Evelina London wards.
- Top up consumable items within dispensary.
- Assist with stock inventory.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, active listening skills, good organisational skills and ability to work as part of the team and to work on your own initiative are essential for this role.
