COR16 - Community Engagement Volunteer

The aim of this role is to support the Engagement Officer to listen to the voices of service users, carers, families and communities. The Community Engagement Volunteer will help us to gather feedback, raise awareness of services, and promote involvement opportunities in a welcoming and inclusive way.

This is a non clinical role and is ideal for individuals who are passionate about community wellbeing, reducing stigma around mental health, and improving services through lived experience and feedback.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The volunteer may support with:

• Encourage and support local people to speak out about their experiences of health and social care services

• Sharing information about Trust services and signposting appropriately (non-clinical information only)

• Supporting engagement events, information stalls and awareness days

• Gathering feedback through conversation and ensuring comments are recorded accordingly

• Supporting inclusive engagement with underrepresented communities

• Helping create a friendly, approachable presence within community spaces

• Engaging with Trust colleagues to listen to their experiences and perspectives, helping to identify how services can be improved.

Volunteers will not be expected to work independently in challenging situations and will always have clear guidance and supervision.
