'Not So Scary' Halloween Luminary Hike: Set Up/Take Down

Help the Lussier Family Heritage Center make our Halloween Luminary Hike a success by being a volunteer for the event! Sign up for either a set-up (3:00-5pm) or take-down (7:30-9pm) shift and help us with a variety of tasks such as setting up/cleaning up the luminaries and other decorations/materials.

About the event: Bring your friends and family for a 1 mile candle-lit evening walk around the Lussier Family Heritage Center! Stroll through the luminary paths to enjoy our nighttime prairie. Finish the night off with a campfire and s’mores, and other activities under the stars. The trail includes multiple paths suitable for all! Please dress for the weather as this event will be primarily outside. S'mores and hot drinks provided. This event is partnered with Ice Age Trail Alliance and the Verona Public Library. 

Volunteers for this event get free access to join the event outside of their shift time. 

How to Prepare: 

What to Bring:

• Bring a water bottle (water fountains available for fill up).
• Snacks, if you need them.
• Anything else you need to be comfortable for the day.

What to Wear: 

• Wear clothing appropriate for the weather (you will be outdoors).
• Wear appropriate, comfortable shoes.
• Halloween Apparel 
• Clean Up Only: Headlamp (one can be provided, if needed). 

Accessibility: 

• There will be bathroom access and a water fountain.
• There is an indoor space to warm up if the weather is cold.  
• During this shift, volunteers must be willing to walk up to a mile and consistently bend over, turn on/off lights and set out/pick up bag lanterns along Luminary Hike Path.
