Gardening & Landscaping - Plant Return & Check In - Native Plant Program
Native Plant Program - Plant Return & Check In
Did you know that Dane County has a Free Native Plant Program to provide free plants to schools and community groups? Volunteers (Native Plant Growers) grow the plants at their homes and return them to Dane County to distribute. It is an amazing resource that has so far provided 46,000 free plants to our local community.
Help us wrangle all the returning plants for the season and get them sorted!
For this role, volunteers will assist with checking in trays of native plants that have been grown by volunteers. This will include greeting volunteer growers as they come to drop off their plants, counting individual plants to be sure of final plant counts, recording plant numbers on an inventory sheet, and carrying the trays to the appropriate area. You will be working inside our Libby Rd. storage facility, which has large bay doors that open to the outside. This event will happen even if there is light rain. No plant ID experience is required for this role.
