Natural Areas Work Day at Schumacher Farm Park
Join the Friends of Schumacher Farm Park for important restoration work the 2nd Friday of the month from 9am-12pm through the growing season.
Work may include: removal of invasive species, brush removal, seed collection, etc.
Location:
Schumacher Farm Park, 5682 Hwy 19 Waunakee, WI 53597
- Meet in the parking lot of the Center for Rural History (red barn with painted quilt design), located at the end of the driveway.
How to Prepare:
What to Know/Bring:
- All tools, materials, and training will be provided.
- Bring drinking water and a snack if desired.
What to Wear:
- Dress for the weather (think rain, snow, light wind, etc.), ready to work in any condition in clothes you don't mind working in or getting dirty. Long pants are recommended.
- Volunteers should wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes/boots.
- Work gloves are recommended.
Accessibility:
- Volunteers should be comfortable with walking on uneven terrain.

Youth:
- Youth under 16 years old are allowed to attend with an adult chaperone.
- Youth aged 16-17 can volunteer independently as long as they have completed the Youth Volunteer Application Form.
