Educator - Play Cafe Assistant

Our Lil' Explorer Pop Up Play Cafe provides a space for young kids to use all five senses, be active in the outdoors and learn how to work together. Each session is a laid back environment where there will be a variety of hands-on activities that youth ages 0 - 5 can engage in. Snacks and beverages are provided for caregivers and they are able to come and leave as they please during the program. Adult chaperones are required to attend this event with their child.

This program occurs the first Wednesday on the month from 9 - 11 am.

How to Prepare: 

What to Know:

• Volunteers will support a HC staff member to conduct this program. Duties may include:
  • Setting up and cleaning up crafts
  • Monitor group safety
  • Read books to youth
  • Ask questions to youth to learn more
  • Report incidents and issues to the staff member assigned to the program
  • Set up and clean up program materials
  • Participate in activities (scavenger hunts, hikes, musical singing, dancing and instruments)
  • Check in participants
• Children age range: 0 - 5 
• Children must attend with an adult

Accessibility:

• Volunteers are expected to move around the room and engage youth in activities, which may require sitting and standing intermittently.
