Education & Interpretation - Fishing Pole Maintenance

Fishing Rod Maintenance 

This is a highly independent position that has minimal to no staff oversight. Volunteers will repair and provide maintenance for a variety of fishing rod and reel types. Duties may include:  

  • Detangling fishing lines 
  • Checking equipment for proper tackle (hook, sinker, etc.) 
  • Re-lining rods  
  • Other fishing pole repair tasks as needed

What to Know: 

 

  • This is a independent position with a flexible schedule.
  • A volunteer MUST have knowledge of fishing pole repair or be willing to self-learn through means of their choosing (YouTube video, etc.).
  • You may choose to come to the Lussier Family Heritage Center and stay to repair fishing equipment on-site, or you can choose to take equipment and materials home with you to repair on your own time.
  • Upon signing up, Volunteer Program staff will review your request and connect you to the Education Program staff  in charge of overseeing this volunteer role. Education staff will then schedule a brief meeting with you to review the position, show you tools and materials, and finalize other details necessary for the role.

Lussier Family Heritage Center Barn - 3101 Lake Farm Rd, Madison, WI 53711 

OR a volunteer may choose to take poles home to repair.
