Full Moon & Halloween Luminary Hike: S'mores & Hot Chocolate Assistance

Help the Lussier Family Heritage Center make our Halloween Luminary Hike a success by being a volunteer for the event! During this shift volunteers should be willing to help individuals set up their poker sticks to roast marshmallows and pour hot chocolate. Must be willing to stand for part or all of the shift and comfortable with working near a fire. Additional staff member will be there to assist.

About the event: Celebrate the magic of a full moon and the fun of Halloween with an evening of family-friendly outdoor adventure! Join Dane County Parks, the Ice Age Trail Alliance, and Verona Public Library for a special Full Moon & Halloween Luminary Hike at Badger Prairie County Park. Enjoy a self-guided, at your own pace, 1-mile loop hike along the Ice Age Trail, illuminated by festive luminaries. Decorate your own walking stick and warm up with s'mores, hot cocoa, and cider at the Badger Prairie Park shelter. Stop by the Verona Public Library parking lot to create a moon-themed craft. 

How to Prepare: 

What to Bring:

• Bring a water bottle (water fountains available for fill up).
• Snacks, if you need them.
• Anything else you need to be comfortable for the day.

What to Wear: 

• Wear clothing appropriate for the weather (you will be outdoors).
• Wear appropriate, comfortable shoes.
• Halloween Apparel 

Accessibility: 

• There will be portable toliet access. 
• Indoor space at the library is 0.5 miles from the location if you need to warm up.  
• Must be willing to stand for part or all of the shift and comfortable with working near a fire.
