Gardening & Landscaping - Plant Pickup - Native Plant Program
Native Plant Program - Plant Pickup
Did you know that Dane County has a Free Native Plant Program to provide free plants to schools and community groups? Volunteers (Native Plant Growers) grow the plants at their homes and return them to Dane County to distribute. It is an amazing resource that has so far provided 57,000 free plants to our local community.
For this role, volunteers will be assisting individuals from over 30 community groups come to pick up their native plants! These plants will already be sorted into specific groupings for each community group, and will be ready to go. As the group representative arrives, you will help find the plants for that group and assist with loading them into their vehicles. Volunteers will help put away folding tables at the end of the shift.
You will be working inside our Libby Rd. storage facility, which has large bay doors that open to the outside. This event will happen even if there is light rain. No plant ID experience is required for this role.
