Independent Volunteer: Garden Steward
This activity is for volunteers wanting to independently weed and maintain planted pollinator and entrance sign gardens in the Dane County Park System. Each volunteer will get a manual for their site with a map of the species and photos of common weeds.
How to sign up:
*Volunteers interested in this activity will need to meet one on one with a staff member at the garden site to receive training before beginning the role.*

Location:
Current adoptable gardens are in the William G. Lunney Lake Farm County Park area.
Requirements
- The minimum time commitment will be approximately one hour every two to three weeks from May-September (you are welcome to start earlier volunteer more regularly if you wish!)
- Some experience with gardening or weeding is required.
- Knowledge of native plants is a plus but not required
How to Prepare:
- Bring any tools you may want, such as gloves, a weeding tool, knee pads, a bucket for weeds, etc.
