Fishing Educator Assistant at Lake Farm County Park
Are you someone who loves to fish and wants to spread that passion onto younger generations? Then come help make our education programs a success! During these "Learn to Fish" programs, volunteers will assist Lussier Family Heritage Center staff with the following:
- Assist youth on learning how to cast with a simple fishing rod and reel
- Collaborate with LFHC staff to work with youth on fishing skills
- Bait hooks
- Remove fish from hook
- Fix rods and reels, when/if needed
- Set up and clean up equipment
Qualifications (Requirements):
Prior to being able to sign up, volunteers must complete/have the following:
- Volunteers must have attending our fishing assistant training
- Pass a background check
- Hold a valid Wisconsin DNR Fishing License
- Complete a "Volunteers Working with DCP Youth" training

How to Prepare:
What to Know:
- All tools and materials required for this position will be supplied
- Bring a refillable water bottle and snacks if you need
- Sunscreen and bug spray (if bugs bother you)
- Anything else you would need to be comfortable during this event such as a folding or camp chair.
What to Wear:
- Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toed shoes
Accessibility:
- Work will be outdoors
- Bathrooms are available
- Volunteers will have to access our dock for their work area and can choose to sit or stand

If you are signed up and need to cancel your shift five days or less before the date of the program, please contact Rachael.

- Background Check Must be at least Passed
- DCP/LFHC Volunteer Educator Must be Attended Educator Training
- WI DNR Fishing License Must be Is Valid for 2025-2026
