YV4C Dane Demo Farm Soil & Conservation Workday
Volunteers will contribute to ongoing conservation efforts at Dane County demonstration farm in the Sugar River Wildlife, exploring how agriculture and environmental stewardship work together to protect soil and water resources. Youth will engage in hands-on activities including a rainfall simulator demonstration and soil sampling to better understand how different land management practices affect water infiltration, runoff, and soil health. If time allows, volunteers may also participate in infiltration testing to deepen their understanding of how conservation practices improve water movement through soil.
