Gardening & Landscaping - Plant Sorting - Native Plant Program
Native Plant Program - Plant Sorting
Did you know that Dane County has a Free Native Plant Program to provide free plants to schools and community groups? Volunteers (Native Plant Growers) grow the plants at their homes and return them to Dane County to distribute. It is an amazing resource that has so far provided 57,000 free plants to our local community.
For this role, volunteers will help sort the plants that volunteer grown this season into specific groupings for various community projects that will be receiving them. This role requires a lot of attention to detail. Volunteers must look at the plants lists, pull the correct plants, ensure they get the correct labels and double check everything at the end. Volunteers will work in pairs, one carrying the tray and one pulling the plants.
You will be working inside our Libby Rd. storage facility, which has large bay doors that open to the outside. This event will happen even if there is light rain. No plant ID experience is required for this role.
