Heirloom Garden Workdays at Schumacher Farm

Join volunteers with the Friends of Schumacher Farm Park (FOS) on Wednesday afternoons throughout the growing season to help maintain the Schumacher Farm Heirloom Garden! Work may include: weeding, mulching, planting, harvesting veggies, fruits, and herbs,  watering, etc. 


Steps to Register for a Workday: 

  1. No registration needed, drop-in volunteers welcome.

Schumacher Farm Park - 5682 Hwy 19 Waunakee, WI 53597

  • Join us in the garden, which is near the white farmhouse.

How to Prepare: 


What to Know:

  • Whether you're a seasoned gardener or a total newbie, we’ve got you covered. Volunteers receive on-the-job training and supervision at every work session. 

What to Wear: 

  • Closed-toed, sturdy shoes 
  • Clothes you don't mind getting dirty and working in.
    • Breathable, loose-fitting clothing is best for the summertime. 
  • A hat and sunscreen is recommended. 

What to Bring:

  • You don’t need to bring tools—we provide everything you’ll need. You’re welcome to bring your own, too. 
  • Bring your own garden gloves
  • Drinking water (extra water if it's hot out)
  • A snack if you need
