Community Events & Outreach - Information Crew (Environmental Fun Fair)
Environmental Fun Fair: Information Crew
It's time for our annual Environmental Fun Fair, a free fun morning full of hands-on activities centered around nature, recreation, and science. This is an inclusive event appropriate for all ages and abilities. Last year we had several hundred attendees; this year we are looking for volunteers to help with a variety of roles to make this day a huge success! *Volunteers must be 18 or older to fill this role.
Role Description:
Information Crew volunteers will wear bright yellow vests and have a map of the event and station locations. They will float around the different areas of the event and help event goers with questions, be able to offer directions to various stations or restrooms, and offer assistance as needed. They will have radios to communicate with park staff for questions they are unsure of. They will also be on hand if extra support is needed at the info table.
How to Prepare:
What to Bring:
- Bring a water bottle (a filling station is available inside the building).
- Snacks if you need them.
- Anything else you need to be comfortable for the day.
What to Wear:
- Wear clothing appropriate for the weather.
- A hat and sunscreen is recommended.
- Wear appropriate, comfortable shoes.
Accessibility:
- There will be bathroom access and a water fountain.
- Volunteers will have access to an air-conditioned building in case a cooling-off break is needed.
- Our department is committed to providing meaningful access to our programs and resources to all individuals, regardless of primary language or ability. If you need language assistance services or an accessibility modification for this program, including reserving our all-terrain wheelchair, please submit this request form a minimum of 10 business days before the event to make the request. Please note, it is not possible for all activities to be modified.
