About POW UK:

Protect Our Winters UK (POW UK) is an outdoors climate action charity, and we help passionate outdoor people become effective climate advocates to achieve systemic solutions to climate change, protecting our world today and for future generations. 

We deliver community engagement and education programmes, corporate climate action support, and campaign for systemic change.

 

Role Overview:

Are you a passionate creative looking to make a difference? Join us at Protect Our Winters UK as a Volunteer Content Creator. We're in search of individuals who can bring their creativity to the table and help us craft compelling content for our digital platforms.

As part of our team, you'll aid in the planning and producing engaging graphics, memes, and short-form videos tailored for our social media channels and website. Your creations will not only educate and inspire but also resonate deeply with outdoor enthusiasts.

We are a micro team and value initiative greatly, so you should feel comfortable taking ownership of projects while collaborating closely with our marketing manager. A good understanding of social media platforms and previous experience creating content are essential to this role.

Above all, we're looking for someone who shares our love of the outdoors and is driven to empower others to take meaningful action.

This is an exciting opportunity to lend your skills to a cause that truly matters while gaining valuable experience in content creation for a nonprofit organisation.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Create engaging content across our channels that will educate, inspire, and resonate with our audiences.

  • This will include blogs, graphics, memes, and short form videos (reels).

  • Collaborate with the marketing manager to brainstorm ideas and concepts for social media assets and promotional materials.

  • Ensure all content aligns with Protect Our Winters UK's brand guidelines and messaging strategy.

  • Stay up-to-date with current trends and best practices in content creation, particularly in the realm of climate activism and outdoor sports.

  • Able to commit a few hours each week to ensure we have an ongoing stream of content to post to our digital channels.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong creative skills and a passion for storytelling through visual mediums.

  • Working knowledge of digital channels and social media platforms and what type of content works where.

  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to take direction and incorporate feedback effectively.

  • Prior experience in content creation, particularly for social media platforms, is preferred but not required.
