Kitchen
The kitchen is the center of the Hospice, providing a 'home away from home' feeling with food and refreshments for clients and their families. Volunteers work with the Food Services Coordinator to prepare daily soups, side dishes, snacks, and baked goods. In addition, volunteers assist with food preparation for the 'meals to go' program as well as refreshments for client groups and meetings. Washing dishes and keeping the kitchen clean are all part of the duties. Training of an additional course in 'Health and safety of food handling' is required. Standing for longer periods, repetitive motion, and some bending should be expected in this role.
