Matthews House

Often referred to the Courtesy Desk, volunteers are situated in the main living room on the main floor.  Volunteers engage with family members, visitors and friends in warm conversation; provide a safe space, listening to them, conduct tours of the building, ensuring their comfort and ease.  When visitor numbers are low, light dusting and tiding of the immediate area and kitchen, making fresh coffee and being a back up for the reception area as well as doing light administrative tasks help to fill quieter times.
