Outline of Role

To attend the FamilyCare Program as required, providing support to the FamilyCare staff member/s as directed.  Programs can include Family Violence Therapeutic Intervention, Parenting Education, Relationship Building, IntoRec and Men’s Counselling.  You will not be involved in the service delivery or have content responsibilities. 

Programs will be held on site at a FamilyCare office at an agreed time, at the direction of a FamilyCare staff member.

You will have a desire to make a positive contribution to the lives of families, children and aged persons from all walks of life and diverse backgrounds.

 

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Organisational skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with all groups of people, from a range of backgrounds.
  • Understanding of privacy and confidentiality.
  • A friendly and approachable manner.

Other Requirements

You will have a desire to make a positive contribution to the lives of families, children and aged persons from all walks of life and diverse backgrounds.

You must be aware of FamilyCare’s responsibilities to contribute to children’s safety and wellbeing and report any concerns about neglect or abuse to a supervisor or manager.

We will advise you of any occupational health and safety requirements that you need to be aware of and follow.

We will advise you of, and train you in, the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.

We will ensure you are aware of any relevant policies and procedures that are to be followed.

Supervision, support and training will be provided.

Safety Screening

Essential for all staff and Volunteers:

  • National Police History Check.
  • Applicants who have lived overseas for 12 months or longer during the past 10 years are required to provide the results of an international police check.
  • A current Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) card is required.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (where applicable).
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence (where applicable).

FamilyCare will support and assist our volunteers with the applications and also cover any costs associated.
