Grocery Shopper / Food Preparation
Outline of Role
The Volunteer will need to attend to purchasing the necessary groceries (from either IGA Supermarket or Foodshare) for the clients attending the After School or School Holiday Program.
Food preparation will also be required, to prepare an afternoon tea for the clients attending the After School Program or School Holiday Program.
Working with Program staff to coordinate requirements will be necessary.
A FamilyCare vehicle will be provided for the transport if required.
You will have a desire to make a positive contribution to the lives of families, children and aged persons from all walks of life and diverse backgrounds.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
A Driver’s’ Licence is required.
Good organisational, communication and people skills and being able to work with FamilyCare staff to coordinate the groceries and preparation of food.
Other Requirements
You will have a desire to make a positive contribution to the lives of families, children and aged persons from all walks of life and diverse backgrounds.
You must be aware of FamilyCare’s responsibilities to contribute to children’s safety and wellbeing and report any concerns about neglect or abuse to a supervisor or manager.
We will advise you of any occupational health and safety requirements that you need to be aware of and follow.
We will advise you of, and train you in, the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
We will ensure you are aware of any relevant policies and procedures that are to be followed.
Supervision, support and training will be provided.

Safety Screening
Essential for all staff and Volunteers:
- National Police History Check.
- Applicants who have lived overseas for 12 months or longer during the past 10 years are required to provide the results of an international police check.
- A current Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) card is required.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (where applicable).
- Current Australian Drivers Licence (where applicable).
FamilyCare will support and assist our volunteers with the applications and also cover any costs associated.
