Help Martha's Table by delivering meals to individuals who are unable to come to Martha's Table in person.
Meal delivery driver shifts start at 11:30 and normally ends around 1:30 depending on the route assigned that day.
Volunteer Meal Delivery Driver - Job Description
Position Summary:
As a Volunteer Meal Delivery Driver for Martha's Table Community Program in Kingston, Ontario, you will play a vital role in ensuring that nutritious meals reach those in need within our community. Each day, our free restaurant serves over 400 meals, and your assistance in delivering these meals helps us extend our reach and impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Meal Delivery: Safely and efficiently deliver meals to designated locations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to our clients.
Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure your vehicle is in good working condition, properly maintained, and stocked with necessary supplies for safe meal transportation.
Client Interaction: Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor when interacting with meal recipients, ensuring a positive experience.
Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all traffic laws and safety protocols, including the use of masks and sanitation practices as required.
Documentation: Complete and submit any required delivery documentation promptly and accurately.
Communication: Stay in regular communication with the volunteer coordinator regarding your delivery schedule, any issues encountered, and updates on delivery status.
Qualifications:

Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

Current vehicle insurance.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to follow directions and work independently.

Respect for client confidentiality and adherence to safety protocols.

Recent Vulnerable Sector CPIC (within the last 2 years).
Volunteer Requirements:
To ensure the safety and efficiency of our meal delivery program, we request all volunteer drivers to update their information in our Better Impact Volunteer System. Your cooperation is vital in maintaining the quality of our services. The specific updates we need from you include:

Updated Driver's License: Please upload a copy of your current driver's license.

Insurance Cards: Kindly upload copies of your current insurance cards.

COVID Vaccination Status: We need to know your COVID vaccination status for safety purposes.
Additionally, we have new driver training and a driver agreement that we would like you to complete. These steps will help ensure that you are well-prepared and informed as a volunteer driver.

Time Commitment:
We ask for a commitment of one shift per week for up to 2 1/2 hours during lunch hour, specifically from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM.
