Mascot Assistant
Volunteer Description: Volunteers will assist mascots, guiding them through crowds, helping get into and out of costume, managing water breaks, assisting with photo opportunities and more.
Qualifications Needed: Ability to interact with a variety of ages; ability to lift 5-10 lbs.; standing or sitting for long periods of time; positive attitude and willingness to be inclusive.
Equipment / Supplies Needed: Volunteers shall dress appropriately and in layers as the weather can change quickly. Events are mostly outdoors. Volunteer should bring a meal if they are working over a lunch or dinner, unless otherwise noted. Drinking water will be provided. An additional list of area and event specific requirements will be provided in advance.
Training: Project-specific on the job training is provided by Park Department staff.
Age Requirements: Minimum of 16 years old or approved by Park staff.
Is the location handicapped accessible? While the location may be handicapped accessible, this position may pose a challenge for some individuals. Speak with a Parks staff member prior to the event shift.
