The Gardens at Yanney Volunteer Program

Want some seeds, cannas, elephant ears, dahlias, and cuttings for your garden next year?  Half of the cannas we dig up from the Gardens at Yanney Park the volunteers can take home.

Seeking volunteers to help dig up the canna bulbs and clean up the Gardens.   These volunteers are dependable individuals who have the ability to kneel, bend, lift, and enjoy a morning of working in the garden.  Volunteers work in groups digging cannas, removing annual flowers, cutting the stalks off the rhizomes, and placing the cannas in pots for storage. Gardening experience is preferred but not required since experienced gardeners will train you how to dig up and overwinter the cannas. 

The Dig Up the Cannas Event is scheduled for the morning of Saturday, October 17, 2026. This Volunteer is needed from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
