MSAC Craft Club Volunteer

Craft Club Volunteer - Position Description

 

Role

To create various crafts for Centre sales and events.

 

Time Commitment

  • Minimum 3 hours weekly
  • Year round

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the creation of crafts for fundraisers
  • Suggest new ideas or options for crafts
  • Continually research and create new items that follow current crafting trends
  • Train new craft club volunteers when required
  • Assist in working the annual Craft and Treasures sale or other events where craft club items are sold

 

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Punctual, consistent, reliable
  • Friendly
  • Attention to detail
  • Creative and crafty
  • Must meet requirements of general volunteer program
  • Be an ambassador for the Centre

MSAC Food Services Volunteer

Food Services Volunteer - Position Description

 

Role

To assist the Team with food preparation and execution for various Milton Seniors’ Activity Centre events and lunch counter program.

 

Time Commitment

  • To be determined by Centre Staff and team.
  • Based on needs and scheduling

 

Responsibilities

  •  Assist with preparation of lunch counter and/or food/baking/coffee services for Milton Seniors’ Activity Centre events while maintaining a sanitary work area
  •  Assist with serving customers when required
  •  Assist with set up and clean up of food preparation/lunch/event area and Cafeteria
  • Inform Staff when supplies are getting low
  • Maintain equipment in an organized and clean manner
  • Follow the Halton Region Safe Food Handling expectations
  • Prepare and serve daily coffee and baked goods (if required)
  • Assist preparing food/baking items for Centre fundraising (if required)
  • Process payments through cash register (if required)

Program Convenor Volunteer - Position Description

 

Role

To provide leadership and supervision to a program group at the Milton Seniors’ Activity Centre.

 

Time Commitment

  • Various hours depending on the program

 

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between staff and program participants
  • Liaise with Centre staff, program participants and program support
  • Provide leadership and a rewarding experience for participants
  • Other duties as required as per the Coordinator, Recreation

Special Event Volunteer - Position Description

 

Role

To assist in the delivery of special events at the Milton Seniors’ Activity Centre.

 

Time Commitment

  • Varies depending on the duration of the event which includes clean up and take down

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with organizing event details (i.e. menu/food, decorations)
  • Assist with the set up and cleanup of event room
  • Assist with food preparation
  • Assist with serving food and drinks
  • Follow the Halton Region Safe Food Handling expectations
  • Act as a liaison throughout the event
  • Other duties as assigned depending on the nature of the event
