Garden Maintenance - Teaching Garden Assistance

Help with seasonal garden  tasks like mulching, pulling weeds, maintaining food and pollinator gardens, and more.

What To Expect:

  • Being outside for prolonged periods of time
  • Bending, standing, and crouching
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Volunteer shifts are rain or shine, tasks might change depending on weather

If you are unable to perform these tasks or need accommodations, please do not hesitate to reach out to Jennifer, Volunteer Coordinator at jennifers@cibolo.org that we may make your volunteer experience at Herff Farm as inclusive and enjoyable as possible.

What To Bring:

  • Clothing you do not mind getting dirty and closed toe shoes
  • Gardening tools or gloves (we have tools and gloves if you do not have your own)
  • Insect repellant and sunscreen
  • Plenty of water

Getting to Herff Farm:

  • Come to 33 Herff Road through the main gate and turn right
  • Park where convenient and enter the barn building
  • Meet up with the Garden Manager at the picnic tables under the covering
