Location: Cibolo Nature Center (CNC)
Volunteers Needed: 8
Project Overview
Volunteers will assist in constructing a cedar post enclosure around the parking lot waste area. This structure will screen the area from visitors while maintaining access for waste collection trucks. Additional work will include clearing brush behind the enclosure to improve cleanliness and accessibility.
Volunteer Responsibilities
- Assist with installation of cedar posts for the enclosure structure
- Support basic carpentry tasks for building and securing the screening structure
- Help dig post holes and prepare the ground for installation
- Clear and remove brush behind the waste corral area
- Use hand tools and equipment safely under supervision
Skills & Experience (Preferred)
- Basic carpentry skills
- Experience using hand tools and light equipment
Tools & Equipment
- Post hole diggers
- Saws
- Shovels
- Other basic construction tools (as needed)
Volunteer Requirements
- Ability to perform light to moderate physical labor
- Comfortable working outdoors
- Willingness to follow safety guidelines and team direction
What to Bring
- Closed-toe shoes
- Work gloves (recommended)
- Water bottle
- Sun protection (hat, sunscreen)
