Bridge & Trail Improvements

Project Overview

Volunteers will assist with improvements to key trail infrastructure areas, enhancing both safety and visitor experience at the Cibolo Nature Center. Work will focus on bridge replacement, creek crossing features, and trail enhancements.

Volunteer Responsibilities

International Bridge Improvement

• Assist with removal of the existing bridge
• Support construction of a new wooden pedestrian bridge
• Help ensure the new structure aligns with the natural aesthetic of the trail system

Braden’s Bridge Area Enhancements (Behind Auditorium)

• Help install stepping stones across the creek corridor to accommodate changing water flow
• Assist in developing a designated scenic photo point for visitors and nature photographers
• Support reinforcement of nearby stair handrails
• Participate in removal of old pipe stumps and debris

Volunteer Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Comfortable with light to moderate physical activity (lifting, carrying, basic tools)
• Willingness to follow staff guidance and safety protocols
