Get involved! Volunteers are an essential part of The Battery Conservancy team. There are many opportunities for individuals and groups at The Battery, the beautiful historic park at the southern tip of Manhattan.
We are excited to open a limited number of volunteer shifts each week after a delay in programming due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We will open up more slots and shifts as it is safe to do so.
Orientation for new volunteers is now available.
All volunteers, staff, and park visitors must maintain a distance of 6 feet from others and wear a face covering over their nose and mouth at all times while in The Battery.
The Battery Conservancy was founded to revitalize New York’s birthplace park and its major landmark, Castle Clinton National Monument. The Conservancy designs, builds, maintains, and activates the historic Battery’s 25-acres of public parkland at the southern tip of Manhattan. In partnership with the City of New York’s Department of Parks and Recreation and the National Park Service, the Conservancy brings inspired vision and targeted resources to the park.
