Get involved! Volunteers are an essential part of The Battery Conservancy team. There are many opportunities for individuals and groups at The Battery, the beautiful historic park at the southern tip of Manhattan.
Volunteer shifts are available with our gardeners in our 240,000 square feet of perennial gardens and in Battery Urban Farm from March through the end of October.
All new volunteers must complete a Volunteer Orientation which is always available online after registration.
All volunteers, staff, and park visitors must follow appropriate COVID-19 guidelines while in The Battery.
The Battery Conservancy was founded to revitalize New York’s birthplace park and its major landmark, Castle Clinton National Monument. The Conservancy designs, builds, maintains, and activates the historic Battery’s 25-acres of public parkland at the southern tip of Manhattan. In partnership with the City of New York’s Department of Parks and Recreation and the National Park Service, the Conservancy brings inspired vision and targeted resources to the park.
