What Can Volunteers Do

Concierge / Wayfinding assistance

Be the friendly face that welcomes and assists patients entering Mercy Hospital for Women.

You will provide our patients with assistance to find their way to their appointments, where various clinics and education sessions are located and our public facilities.

Our Concierge's are located in the main reception area on Level 1 and at the lift entrance on Level 3 where they also assist patients to use our Q-Flow appointment check in system.

Administration Assistance

Our Administration Assistance volunteers help across many of our departments and provide support to our receptionists and Ward Clarks.

Tasks may include: compiling patient information packs, data entry, collating, mail outs, scanning, etc.

Maternity Ward Patient Wellbeing Ambassador

Our Maternity ward patients vary from new parents who will stay for a short period post birth, patients who require longer stays post birth and patients who require hospital admission while pregnant,

Our Patient Wellbeing Ambassadors assist our patients staying on the ward by being a friendly face they can socialise with, do simple tasks for them such as getting cups of tea, iced tea, craft kits or assist them with their information packs they have been provided and assist with keeping our patient resources in the public areas stocked and tidy.

*Please note only the Tuesday morning shift between 9am to 12pm is available. Experience with babies and young children either lived or work based is preferred.
