NVADG- 2026 Training - NVADG - 03-14-26 Large Animal Shelter Ops & Mini Drill (LAS Leads)
All volunteers are welcome!
Come learn the fundamentals of what it takes to run NVADG’s Large Animal Shelter and the flow of the shelter’s operations during a disaster. This year’s training will cover how to identify signs of health concerns and document this important information using an assessment health chart. This will be a hands-on routine training demonstrating proper use of the equipment needed and evaluate what positions you as volunteers are comfortable with and the level of experience is needed to care for these animals. There are several positions needed to be assigned to a barn team, including a Barn Lead who has the responsibility that every task is accounted for.
This includes Large Animal Handling fulfilling the requirements to volunteer at the Large Animal Shelter during a disaster.
At the end of the day, we will run thought a drill exercise.
