NVADG- 2026 Training - NVADG - 03-05-26 Shelter Intake 2 (Process & Public Intake)
Shelter Intake 2 (FOCUS: Process of Public Intake)
Intake plays one of the most important roles in NVADG's operations during a disaster. Come join us to learn the steps to intake animals into a shelter during a disaster.
This training will focus on the process of Public Intake which involves greeting the owner at their vehicle, inputting owner and animal information into Shelterly, and transferring animals into our shelters.
We will go over the Intake set-up, positions, and flow along with the teams’ approach of Runner and Assistant.
We will review Shelterly log-in and practice Public Intake Owned and Owner Unidentified. We will learn what to do with the printed paperwork once the owner and animal information is completed in Shelterly. We will also go over how to return an animal to their owner.
Note there are many changes to Shelterly and Intake strives to improve our processes, so please be sure to join us to hone your skills and stay updated. All volunteers are welcome and Shelter Volunteers are strongly encouraged to attend.
