NVADG- 2026 Training - NVADG - 04-29-26 Shelter Intake 4 (Focus: Misc. but Important Stuff)

Shelter Intake 4  (Focus: Documentation, Transfers & Misc. Stuff)

Intake plays one of the most important roles in NVADG's operations during a disaster. Come join us to learn various aspects of intake of animals into a shelter during a disaster.

This training will cover the documentation protocol used once an animal has entered the shelter along with how to transfer an animal to another shelter. This training will also focus on many aspects related to Intake such as overheated animals, medication approval, radio protocol, searching EVAC Zones, and veterinarian requests. We will also review the scripts for calling owners for various reasons such as signing Owner Summary Liability forms, notifying of Zone Changes, or Shelter Closing. We will cover Shelterly Roomless Animals along with protocol for fixing mistake made while using Shelterly. We might get to the protocol for Intakes role at the time the Shelter Closes.

Note there are many changes to Shelterly and Intake strives to improve our processes, so please be sure to join us to hone your skills and stay updated. All volunteers are welcome and Shelter Volunteers are strongly encouraged to attend.
