What is a Code Club Volunteer?

 As a Code Club volunteer you will run our coding sessions for children at Bath Central Library.

We currently do not have a club running, so times, days and the form the club will take can be agreed between the Library and volunteers.

What will I be doing?

As a Code Club Volunteer you will be:

• Encouraging children to learn new skills while having fun
• Preparing the club by logging in to the computers and logging off again after the club finishes.
• Keeping a note of attendance numbers and signing in attendees.
• Assisting the children with their programming, aiding them to think creatively and problem solve.

Is it for me?

 This role will suit you if:

• You like working with children and have some experience of engaging them in activities whether in a professional, volunteering or personal capacity.
• You are interested in coding and computers. Extensive knowledge is not required, just a willingness to learn along with the club.
• You are passionate about libraries and the opportunities they offer for children to access modern technology, and feel excited about inspiring the next generation of coders and digital makers.
• You will adhere to all Bath and North East Somerset Council’s policies and procedures including Safeguarding.
• You are willing to undergo any necessary training required for the role.

We will reimburse reasonable travel costs from home to your chosen volunteering library.
