Meal Delivery Shift Schedule & Guidelines
Arrive at The Joy Bus Diner by 10:30 AM, ready to share your energy and heart. At 10:40 AM, we’ll gather for a quick team huddle, aligning our routes and our purpose. By 11:00 AM, we send you out the door—meals in hand, kindness in motion—carrying nourishment and connection to people living with cancer who are waiting for that knock on the door and the smile that comes with it.
Before you leave the diner, we recommend calling or texting your clients to share your estimated arrival time. When you arrive, knock on the door with a smile and take a moment to connect—your presence is as nourishing as the meal you bring.
If a client isn’t home when you arrive, leave a “Sorry We Missed You” note in a visible spot. Then, email our coordinator at Volunteers@JoyBus.org to report the missed delivery so we can follow up. Never leave a meal in a cooler or unattended—we want every delivery to be placed directly into the hands of the person it’s meant for.
Qualifications Required
- TJB Orientation Must be Completed
- Criminal Background Check or Fingerprint Clearance Card Must be Approved
