Trillion Trees Australia

Who are we?

Trillion Trees Australia is an organisation committed to restoring landscapes, rebuilding habitat for wildlife and empowering people to take tangible action against the impacts of climate change. Since 1979 we have been bringing people together to plant trees, reconnect with nature and foster a long-term appreciation of the value of trees for a healthy planet. Trillion Trees Australia delivers our mission through ecological restoration projects across Western Australia, the creation of locally focused education programs and building connected communities.

Volunteers are the backbone of our organisation

As a volunteer, you will have endless opportunities to get involved in our work. We are always looking for volunteers with a range of skills and abilities, from helping in the nursery to nature care and site maintenance, administration, events, and of course, tree planting.

By becoming a volunteer, you will have fun, learn new skills, make friends, and most importantly, help us to make a real difference in the fight against climate change. We welcome volunteers of all ages and backgrounds, and no prior experience is required. All you need is a willingness to learn and a passion for the environment.

Volunteering with Trillion Trees is a great way to make a real difference in the restoration of natural ecosystems in Australia. Whether you choose to help in the nursery, nature care and site maintenance, administration, events, or tree planting, your contribution will help us to achieve our mission of restoring landscapes, rebuilding habitat for wildlife and empowering people to take tangible action against the impacts of climate change.

There are many different ways to volunteer at Trillion Trees Australia - here are a few examples of the roles available:

Community Nursery Volunteering

Learn how to propagate native plants and trees in our accredited production nursery in Hazelmere. Its a great way to make new friends in a community environment, get your hands dirty and have some fun! Volunteering opportunities are available in our Community Nursery Monday to Friday, from 8.30am - 2.30pm. FIFO workers are welcome to volunteer around their roster. Come for a few hours or commit to a regular session depending on your availability.

Nature Care Volunteering

Help us to prepare and care for restoration project sites by undertaking site works like mowing, mulching and watering. Nature Care days take place throughout the year at sites in the Perth Metro area. Complete the contact form below to be notified of future opportunities to volunteer with us.

Revegetation and Community Planting Days

Plant trees at revegetation sites across Perth and the Wheatbelt, and make a real impact on the natural environment. It's a great day out for the whole family (bring the kids)! Community Planting Days occur during winter only in Perth and the Wheatbelt. To get involved in a Community Planting day, simply sign up to our newsletter at Trillion Trees Community Plantings

Seed Collection Volunteering

From early 2026, Trillion Trees will commence a volunteer-led Native Seed Program, supported by funding from the Western Australian Government’s State NRM Program. The Trillion Trees Native Seed Program establishes a community-run program for the sustainable collection, processing and storage of native seed for ecological restoration in WA. Volunteers will be able to participate in seed collection activities in Perth and the Wheatbelt, and learn how to safely process and store seed at our Hazelmere Community Nursery.

SPROUT! Education Program

Assist our SPROUT! team on school incursions to inspire the next generation of environmental advocates. All SPROUT! volunteers require a valid Working with Children Check.
