Packing Team Members
Raising Literacy Australia distributes thousands of reading packs to children and families each year - valuable work which would not be possible without the valuable help of our community and volunteers.
Volunteer Tasks
- Collate books and educational materials
- Pack materials into dedicated program bags
- Sort bags into boxes
- Affix appropriate label stickers to boxes
Scheduling
Full-day packing sessions occur periodically throughout the year to replenish program stock. Volunteer shifts are typically 3 hours long, with opportunities available between morning and early evening.
Upcoming packing days will be advertised on our volunteer portal. Volunteers who have completed an application form can schedule themselves for appropriate shifts on these days.
Training and Induction
Packing Team Members will receive a site specific induction from a Raising Literacy volunteer coordinator, and will be briefed on applicable Workplace Health and Safety risks, measures, and procedures.
Additional Requirements
- Packing Team Members must wear breathable clothing and enclosed footwear while working
- Packing Team Members must be age 18+
