Raising Literacy Australia distributes thousands of reading packs to children and families each year. Our impactful programs would not be possible without the valuable help of our volunteers. 

Volunteer Tasks

• Pack books and educational materials into dedicated program bags
• Sort bags into boxes
• Affix label stickers to boxes

Scheduling

Full and half-day packing sessions occur throughout the year. Volunteer shifts are typically 3-5 hours long, with opportunities available for morning or afternoon shifts. 

Upcoming packing days will be advertised on our volunteer portal and shared via email. Volunteers can register themselves for their preferred shift or email summar.hipworth@raisingliteracy.org.au for assistance.

Training and Induction

Packing Team Members will receive a site-specific induction from a Raising Literacy volunteer coordinator, including any Workplace Health and Safety procedures relevant to their shift. 

Additional Requirements

Packing Team Members:

• must wear enclosed footwear at all times
• are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing
• must be age 18+
