Vet Services-Treatment (16+ years)
Vet Service Volunteers assist the Veterinary Staff with the care, diet, and medical needs of the general population of cats and dogs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Report to the Veterinary Technician on duty and perform the tasks assigned. These duties include but are not limited to:
- Assisting in general medication and treatment of animals
- Preparing and distributing special feedings
- Performing medical treatments including eye drops, cleaning ears, and fluids
- It is generally a 2hr shift or until the treatments have been administered (workload varies by season)
*The weekly shift commitment is very important.
Required Commitment: Minimum 6 month commitment of a 2 to 3 hour shift per week. Shifts are usually same day, same time each week.
Training: The training for Vet Services- Treatments is extensive and will require attendance at both cat and dog handling trainings, and at least four weeks of hands-on training.
Open Shifts:
Sundays 8:30-10:30am
Mondays 8:00-10:00am, 3:00pm-5:30pm
Wednesday 3:00pm-5:30pm
Fridays 3:00-5:30pm
