Purpose of Position

To provide a welcoming and inclusive reception at the Cancer Society location.

 

Responsible to: Manager Business Services
Reports to: Executive Assistant/Administrator/Office Manager (or equivalent role)
Liaises with: Paid and volunteer staff working from the office

Key Functions and Responsibilities

Provide effective and efficient reception support:

  • Greet visitors in a warm and friendly manner
  • Attend to the lounge/waiting area
  • Answer the telephone in a polite and professional manner and direct calls appropriately
  • Maintain professional integrity at all times and an upbeat, professional and compassionate attitude
  • Ensure the reception desk is attended as rostered
  • Assist in the upkeep and tidiness of the reception and other allocated areas
  • Comply with the policies and procedures of Cancer Society while on duty or wearing any Cancer Society identification

  • Understand and respect the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi

  • Respect for the confidentiality of patient information and circumstances
  • Ability to maintain boundaries
  • Organisational and time management skills
  • Computer/Web/Microsoft literacy
  • A caring and sensitive manner

 

Hours required

As arranged, between business hours Monday-Friday.
