Online - Wellness & Recreational Group Leader/Facilitator
As a Group Leader Volunteer, you'll help create welcoming, engaging, and supportive experiences for participants in Summit's Health & Wellness Program. By leading recreational and social activities, you'll help individuals build confidence, develop friendships, and feel connected within their community.
What You'll Do
- Lead and support group activities (online)
- Welcome participants and help them feel included and comfortable
- Encourage individuals as they learn new skills and engage with others
- Foster positive social connections and a sense of belonging
- Assist with setting up activity spaces and monitoring supplies
- Attend volunteer training and meetings as required

Who We're Looking For
We are looking for volunteers who:
- Are at least 18 years old
- Are compassionate, reliable, and supportive
- Communicate effectively and respectfully
- Enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds
- Have an interest in mental health, wellness, and community engagement
- Must be able to provide a clear Vulnerable Sector Check
Assets:
- Lived experience with mental health or addiction
- Experience in social services, recreation, or peer support settings
Important Information About the Role
- This is a supportive role- volunteers are not expected to provide counselling
- Volunteers may occasionally support individuals experiencing emotional distress
- You will be expected to remain calm, communicate respectfully, and follow safety procedures
- Confidentiality and professional boundaries are essential
