3. Practical Tasks - Tarr Steps Meadow Scything and Wildlife Surveying
Meet at Tarr Steps Car park.
Then walk down to the river, cross the clapper bridge, and walk upstream to North Barton Meadow. If you arrive for the later session please walk around to meet us there. (the river should be on you righthand side as you walk up from Tarr Steps)
The earlier session will be spent scything.
The later session will be spent wildlife surveying, and turning/gathering the hay that was cut earlier. There will also be the option to have a go at scything if you want.
you can attend either or both sessions each day.
Bring a flask and lunch, and old clothes suitable for the weather. There will always be a walk to get to the work site.
