3. Practical Tasks - Tarr Steps Meadow Scything and Wildlife Surveying
Meadow Management at Tarr Steps.
Meet at Tarr Steps Car Park.
The earlier session each day will be spent scything. (before the heat of the day).
The later session will be spent wildlife surveying, and turning/gathering the hay that was cut earlier. There will also be the option to do more scything for anyone who wants to.
You can attend either or both sessions each day.
If you come for the latter session please walk down to the river, cross the clapper bridge, and walk upstream to North Barton Meadow. (the river should be on you right hand side as you walk up river from Tarr Steps) route map
Bring plenty of water, lunch, sturdy footwear and old clothes suitable for the weather.
