Dark Skies Festival - Ranger-led Guided Walk Dunkery Beacon
Event: Nightime Ranger-led Guided Walk up Dunkery Beacon
Date: Fri 23rd Oct
Time of event: 5pm - 8:30pm
Join National Park Ranger Tim Parish for a guided walk from Webbers Post up to the top of Dunkery Beacon. There'll be amateur astronomers on hand to guide you around the constellations if skies are clear. Parts of the 4-mile walk (around 3 hours) will be on uneven, narrow paths in the dark, and use of headtorches is discouraged. A good level of fitness and the ability to walk unaided is essential.
8 volunteers required 4:45pm - 8:45pm.
Venue: Meet at Webbers Post car park (nearest postcode TA24 8TB)

Role: Meet & greet and backmarking duties throughout the walk. Volunteers will be placed at regular intervals along the line of walkers and will keeping an eye on a specified number of walkers ahead of them.
