About the opportunity
The Family Foundations program based in Mirrabooka is a safe space for families to come together to build friendships and reduce isolation.
About you
Are you passionate about sharing your cooking skills to make delicious meals or would love to provide a nurturing environment for the young participants?
You have the opportunity to utilise your skills to help with practical support like cooking meals or playing games with the young participants building self-confidence and resilience
About the role.
Volunteers in the Community Cook role assists meal planning, preparation and distribution, sorting food deliveries and kitchen upkeep. Volunteers need to be able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
The Volunteer Activity Assistant role requires a creative mind to help the young people grow while they learn and play. Tasks include organising playtime activities, providing support with homework tasks and creating opportunities for adventures with friends.
Volunteers have the opportunity to work across both roles
Hours.
Monday – Wednesday 3pm – 6pm
Thursday - 11am - 1pm
Requirements.
Role specific training includes:
- Family Foundations specific Induction, orientation and training
Volunteering with Uniting is subject to completing the relevant role specific training and satisfactory background checks which include a National Police Check and Reference Checks. (Police Clearance applications can be organised by Uniting)
