Patient Care/Companionship Volunteers

As a patient care volunteer, your time with hospice patients may include keeping them company, holding their hand, reading a book together, singing, playing games, looking through photos or simply providing a comforting presence. Some patient care volunteers offer caregiver relief visits as well, these home visits provide the patient’s primary caregiver a two-hour respite. Volunteers CANNOT provide “hands-on" medical care such as bathing, dressing, transferring, feeding or administering medications.
