YWCA Regina

WELCOME!

YWCA Regina is a community-based organization serving Regina and the area since 1910.

The support of people like you helps keep our array of vital programs going. You can be a part of building brighter futures for women and young people through personal or corporate financial support, or by sharing your time and abilities.

YWCA Regina relies on the support and generosity of our community to ensure the sustainability of our programs and services. From putting food on the table at My Aunt’s Place to creating life-changing mentoring relationships through YWCA Regina Big Sisters, your contributions allow us to continue serving vulnerable women and families in our community.

Thank you for applying to be a YWCA Regina volunteer – WE APPRECIATE YOU.

Volunteer Opportunities

Encore - YWCA Thrift Shop

Our thrift shop welcomes those who thrive in social settings. Tasks include greeting visitors, providing customer service, organizing inventory + store items and assisting with payment. Volunteers must be able to lift 20 pounds and work on their feet for the duration of the shift.

Reclamation/Donation Management

We are looking for helpers to keep our high-traffic storage areas organized! Volunteers will accept and sort donations before moving inventory into our thrift shop and reclamation centre. This is a great opportunity for those looking for a quiet and independent work setting once training is completed. Volunteers must be able to lift 25 pounds and work on their feet for the duration of the shift.

YW Connect Engagement Program

There are two engagement committees for the YW Connect Program – one for general volunteers and one for senior volunteers. These committees lead our volunteer and education program with support from our Operations team. We are looking for leaders who can commit 15-20 hours each month. You will provide program feedback, co-Lead workshops and help create a supportive and social environment.

Driver/Donation pick-up

Calling all confident and skilled drivers! We are looking for those who are knowledgeable about Regina’s layout and are comfortable transporting others. Tasks include transporting residents to appointments at various locations, and support with item and donation pick-ups. Drivers must be able to lift 40 pounds. Drivers would use a YWCA Regina fleet vehicle and will need to provide a copy of their driver's license.

Youth Programs

Youth Program Volunteers will collaborate with our Community Programs department on tutoring, event support, program planning, etc. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who already have or are looking to further their experience with youth.

Talent Share (Sewing, cooking etc.)

Talent Share is an ideal opportunity for individuals looking to share one of their talents in an educational or entertainment setting. We invite those who would be comfortable helping in biweekly/monthly programs such as cooking, sewing, cultural art etc.

Properties Support (Gardening, Yard Maintenance)

Properties Support Volunteers will assist in small repair and renovation tasks at YWCA Regina. Projects include painting, gardening, yard maintenance etc. Tasks may be done individually or in collaboration with our Properties Team. Volunteers must be able to lift 40 pounds and work on their feet for the duration of the shift.
