Time: Volunteer Check-In 5:00 PM, Shift 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Location: Union Coffee Lawn, 3705 Cedar Springs Rd, Dallas, TX 75219

Summary: Assist with setup, greet guests, distribute candles and materials, and help maintain a welcoming and peaceful atmosphere. Event Support volunteers are vital to ensuring attendees feel safe, seen, and supported throughout the evening.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with light event setup (tables, signage, handouts)

• Greet attendees and provide guidance

• Distribute candles and remembrance materials
  
  

• Help manage transitions and clean-up post-event
  
  

Requirements:

• Friendly and calm presence

• Comfortable standing, walking, and lifting up to 20 lbs

• Sensitive to the emotional tone of the event
  
  

Dress Code: Blue DHC t-shirt (provided if needed), comfortable and respectful clothing, closed-toed shoes

Parking: Free but limited parking is available in front of Union and in the Windsor parking garage’s bottom level. Carpooling or ride-share is encouraged.

Cancelations: If you’re unable to attend your shift, please notify your lead contact as early as possible.

Volunteer Check-In / Out:

• Check-In: Please arrive by 5:00 PM for setup instructions and assignments.
  

• Shift Timeframe: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM. This includes setup, the full event (6:00–8:00 PM), and post-event clean-up.

• Check-Out: Check out with your lead before leaving. We ask volunteers to exit the event area after their shift ends to help maintain a peaceful close to the vigil.
